Intense cold continues to grip the northern regions as several cities of the country recorded sub-zero temperatures on Sunday.
According to the meteorological department, Skardu remained the coldest at –11°C, followed by Leh –9°C, Gilgit –7°C, Qalat –6°C, while Quetta, Dir, and Gupis registered –4°C. In Astore, the temperature dropped to –03°C.
Most parts of the country are expected to experience cold and dry weather tonight, while mountainous regions are expected to remain severely cold. Fog and smog are likely to develop in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The federal capital and adjoining areas are expected to remain cold and dry.
Most districts will experience cold and dry conditions in KP, with severe cold likely in hilly regions during morning and night hours.
Light to moderate fog is expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, D.I. Khan, and surrounding areas during the late night and early morning.
Cold and dry weather is expected across most districts of the Punjab province.
Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas are also likely to remain cold and dry.
Dense fog or smog may hit Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, and adjoining areas during morning and night.
Most districts of Balochistan will remain cold and dry, with severely cold conditions expected in the northern areas during the morning and night.
Weather across the Sindh province is expected to stay dry, with nights and mornings likely to remain cold.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, cold conditions with partly cloudy skies are expected.
