An application was filed in the Election Commission of Pakistan for the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar from the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The petition also sought removal of caretaker advisors Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad, and Principal Secretary Syed Tauqeer Hussain from their positions.

It is stated in the petition that the aforesaid people had been the part of the previous government and due to the fact that these people are in the caretaker government, the transparency of the elections is not possible.

If the government wants a transparent election, then these people should be removed from their positions, the petition added.

The application was submitted to the ECP by Supreme Court lawyer Syed Aziz-ud-Din Kakakhel.
