Locals heaved a sigh of relief after the Pakistan Army personnel reached Zagai area of tehsil Mamond in Bajaur for the military operation on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
They hoped that the operation would rid them of the militants.
On the other hand, local sources told the 24News TV channel that the security forces had launched an operation to flush the militants, who are present in the area in large numbers, out of the area.
Alarmed at the presence of militants in their midst, locals had started holding jirgas in the area two months back.
People hail army operation in Dir
Same is the case in Dir where the people are all praise for the army for launching a successful operation against the militants.
The locals welcomed the FC commandant by garlanding him.
Similarly, they also welcomed the jawans.
They vowed to fight against the militants side by side with the army.
