As per the proposal, petrol price is likely to go up by Rs9 per litre, diesel by Rs16 per litre light speed diesel by Rs 9 per litre and kerosene by Rs13 per litre from September 1, the insiders said.
Air travel costs will also increase, they said, adding that it has been proposed to increase the price of jet fuel up to Rs14 per litre
The decision on the prices of petroleum products will be another big test for the caretaker government
If the prices are kept unchanged, the government will land in deep trouble.
