President Asif Ali Zardari has given his assent to the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill 2025, according to a statement issued by the Presidency on Sunday.
The official communique stated that the new legislation is aimed at strengthening the capacity of security agencies to curb terrorism while ensuring transparency and accountability.
The Presidency highlighted that the law includes a three-year sunset clause to restrict its duration, along with provisions for judicial oversight and protective safeguards.
Terming it a significant step forward, the statement noted that the legislation will play an important role in enabling Pakistan to effectively respond to prevailing security challenges.
