The Supreme Court has initiated consultations for the implementation of a uniform e-filing system across the country’s judicial system, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
A meeting chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi was held at the Supreme Court’s Quetta Registry, including an important interaction with a delegation of the Balochistan Bar Council.
The participants discussed the preparation of a unified e-filing framework for the Supreme Court, high courts and district courts aimed at making the process of filing cases easier for lawyers and litigants.
The proposed national e-filing system will also provide facilities for case tracking and maintaining a unified electronic case record, the statement said.
According to the Supreme Court, the system is expected to improve transparency and efficiency in judicial proceedings.
The meeting decided to constitute a committee comprising registrars of the high courts and representatives of bar councils, two representatives each from the provincial bar councils and two representatives from the Islamabad Bar Council will be included in the committee.
The committee will review the standardised e-filing templates and finalise them before presenting them to the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.
The Supreme Court said the national e-filing system would be an important step towards modernising the judicial system and aligning it with technological advancements.
