A youth was murdered and an alleged robber was shot dead in different incidents of crimes in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead a youth from behind near Umar bin Khatab Masjid in Sector 8 of North Karachi. Jahangir died on the spot.
Police rushed to the murder site and collected crucial evidence, and later shifted the body to morgue.
Police were of the view that the murder was the result of a fight between the gunmen and the deceased.
Local residents, however, stated that the attackers were dacoits as they snatched Jahangir’s bag and shot him dead.
Police encounter
An alleged killer was shot dead in an encounter with police on University Road in Karachi East.
The slain accused, identified as Juma Khan alia Lali, was involved in murder of NED University student Bilal Nasir. He killed Bilal Nazir during a dacoity a few days ago. Another accused in the case Nizamuddin was already in police custody in injured condition.
Four dacoits injured
Four dacoits injured in a police encounter at Gulshan Hadeed Link Road and were later arrested.
The injured dacoits, identified as Zahid, Yaqoob, Mujahid and Naveed, were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
Citizens torture dacoits
Citizens got hold of two dacoits in Sector 11 of Karachi and beat them black and blue.
The injured dacoits were identified as 19-year-old Israr son of Nazeer and 18-year-old Irfan son of Shah Rahman.
They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, in a combined operation by Rangers and police in Baldia Town two accused involved in dacoities and street crime were arrested.
