AC acquits 16 in Saaf Pani Company case

An accountability court Monday acquitted 16 accused including Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PML-N leader Engineer Raja Qamar ul Islam and Waseem Ajmal in a NAB reference against Saaf Pani Company, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

AC judge Sajid Ali Awan announced the verdict and accepted the acquittal pleas of the accused.

PML-N leaders Engineer Raja Qamar ul Islam, Waseem Ajmal, Col (retd) Tahir Maqbool, Major (retd) Muhammad Khalid Khan and Masroor Ahmed had filed the petitions for acquittal.

Retired Major Adnan Aftab, Mohi-ud-Din, Muhammad Yousaf and Masood Al-Hassan Kazmi had also filed the acquittal petitions.

In Saaf Pani case, the court had declare Leader of the Opposition and president PML-N Shehbaz Sharif's daughter Rabia and son-in-law Ali Imran as fugitives and issued orders for confiscating their property.
