The pop icon and Wicked star, 32, leaned into the moment with humor, instantly turning a minor editing slip into a viral laugh.
The image, shared online on Thursday, shows Grande posing elegantly in a floral coordinated outfit, accessorized with bold diamond earrings and sheer gloves. As she rests her heavily tattooed left hand against a wall, sharp-eyed followers spotted what appeared to be a sixth finger peeking out, quickly igniting chatter across social media.
One fan reposted the image and joked: "Who’s responsible for giving Ariana 6 fingers…."
Grande herself jumped into the comments, clearly amused, replying: "Holy sh***! Oh my goodness how exciting ! I’ve been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album ! Thankful for this".

The viral moment arrives during a tougher week professionally for Grande. The latest BAFTA nominations delivered several unexpected omissions, including the absence of Wicked: For Good from all major award categories. The sequel failed to match the awards momentum of the first Wicked film, which last year secured seven nominations and walked away with two wins.
Despite hopes for repeat success, the follow-up was completely shut out of the Oscars and managed only two BAFTA nominations, both in technical areas.
Jon M Chu’s film earned nods for costume design and hair and makeup, but its leading stars Grande and Cynthia Erivo were overlooked in the acting categories.
The BAFTA snubs did not stop there. Guillermo del Toro missed out on a Director nomination for Frankenstein, even though the film collected eight total nominations, including a Supporting Actor nod for Jacob Elordi along with multiple craft and technical mentions. Despite that recognition, the movie was excluded from Best Film and Adapted Screenplay, categories where it did receive Oscar consideration.
Acting categories also delivered surprises, with several Oscar-nominated performers missing the BAFTA cut. Those left out included Amy Madigan for Weapons, Delroy Lindo for Sinners, Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent, and Elle Fanning for Sentimental Value.
Meanwhile, BAFTA spotlighted a different group of performers overlooked by the Oscars, nominating Paul Mescal for Hamnet, Jesse Plemons for Bugonia, and Odessa A'Zion for Marty Supreme.
Much of the shake-up is being attributed to BAFTA’s expanded format, which allows six nominees per acting category, one more than the Oscars, opening the door for unexpected inclusions and high-profile exclusions alike.
