Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Executive Director Dr. Rana Imran confirmed on Friday that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan received treatment for an eye condition at the hospital.
According to the statement, Khan had complained of vision loss in his right eye and was diagnosed with retinal vein occlusion following a thorough medical examination by PIMS doctors. Prior to his transfer, an ophthalmologist at Adiala Jail conducted a complete eye examination, including an OCT test, to assess his condition.
Khan was shifted to PIMS Hospital last Saturday night for treatment. During the procedure, doctors successfully injected anti-VEGF into his affected eye. The 20-minute procedure was reported to be stable and uneventful, according to hospital officials.
Dr. Imran confirmed that Khan was discharged from the hospital with necessary medical instructions and a follow-up plan to monitor his recovery.
The procedure is expected to help in restoring vision and preventing further complications in the jailed former prime minister’s right eye.
