Village chairman among three shot dead in Bannu

Three people including a village chairman lost their lives when some unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in Bannu on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The firing incident took place in the Surani area of Bannu. The dead persons included the Chairman of Bazeda Village Amir Durrani.

Soon after receiving the report, a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead persons to the hospital for autopsy.

Earlier on January 30, 2226, three people were killed and several others injured in two separate firing incidents in Bannu.

In the first incident, three people were killed and six others injured in the Mitha Khel area under Mandan police jurisdiction, reportedly after a clash between two groups. The victims were initially taken to District Headquarters Hospital, Bannu, with three of the injured later transferred to Peshawar due to the seriousness of their injuries.

Among the deceased is Hassan, a student at Peshawar University who had recently returned home for a short holiday. The other victims have been identified as Ajab Khan and Roshan. A large police contingent was deployed to the hospital, and investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident at Mandan Gate, a police officer and his three-year-old son were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on their vehicle. Head Constable Hashim Ali Khan and his young son were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Police have launched an operation to apprehend the attackers, and the motive behind the attack is under investigation.
