Commerce Ministry has sent a letter to FBR regarding tax concessions for Afghanistan. According to the notification, tax concession will be imposed from 1st August, 24NewsHDTV Channel reported on Thursday.
The Ministry of Commerce gave a reference of federal cabinet decision taken on 31st July. The cabinet approved the concession on tariffs with Afghanistan. Pakistan will give a 5 to 26 percent tax discount on 4 products of Afghanistan, which include a 5 percent duty removed on tomato, and 26 percent duty removed from the grape, apple and pomegranate.
In return, Afghanistan will give a 20 to 35 percent tax discount on 4 products of Pakistan, which include 35 percent duty removed on potato, 30 percent duty removed on banana and 20 percent duty removed on orange and mango. Both countries will reduce or diminish the customs duty on 4 agricultural products.
