Terrorists attacked on Zerre checkpost in Khyber, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to police sources, the terrorists targeted police and FC check posts at night.
Security forces retaliated but no casualties have been reported in the attack yet, police sources said.
Meanwhile, a successful joint intelligence-based operation of Pakistan Army, police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is underway in the limits of Miryan police station in Bannu.
DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi is personally present in the operation along with his special police team.
During the operation, strict checkpoints were set up at various places while effective raids are being carried out on the possible hideouts of the miscreants.
The miscreants have fled the area due to the action and operation of the security forces.
However, the security forces are determined to arrest the miscreants and the operation is ongoing.
The aim of the operation is to clear the area of miscreants and ensure lasting peace.
