Former caretaker minister and Chairman of Jinnah Hospital Board of Management Dr Gohar Ejaz visited Jinnah Hospital Lahore and announced to establish state-of-the-art Transplant Center, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
He said that the Transplant Center will be operationalized within 90 days and will start functioning from October 30, 2026.
During his visit, a detailed briefing was given to him about the Urology Department and Dialysis Center, and examine the facilities being provided to the patients.
Group Director Syed Burhan Ali, GM Welfare Mohammad Younus and other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
Talking on the occasion, Dr. Gohar Ejaz said that his father was a dialysis patient, but he did not die because of dialysis; he died due to infection.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz said that efforts are being made to ensure that neither patients nor staff at Jinnah Hospital contract the infection.
He further stated that special measures have been implemented for infection control within the hospital; water and waste management systems have been improved, and comprehensive training has been provided to doctors and paramedical staff.
