Like around the world, millions of people sat Itikaaf across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Itikaaf means “devotion to a thing and sticking to it”.

Itikaaf is observed in the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramazan to pray in seclusion for the blessings of Almighty Allah and following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Men will be limited to mosques starting on the 21st of Ramadan while ladies will keep themselves apart from other people in their houses so that they can focus on their prayers.

The Motakifs (people who sit Itikaaf) would break their 20th fast of Ramazan while in Itikaaf and they will end their Itikaaf just as Shawwal moon sighted.

Mosques all around the country have set aside special spaces for Itikaaf.

Special arrangements were also made by the administration of some mosques and philanthropists to provide Sehri and Iftar for those observing Itikaaf.

This year in Lahore, hundreds of people would observe Itikaaf in Data Sahib Mosque, Badshahi Mosque, and Minhajul Quran Mosque of Tahirul Qadri.

At least 300 people will observe Itikaaf in the iconic contemporary mosque of Faisal Masjid Islamabad.

Under the supervision of the Punjab Auqaf Department, arrangements for social seclusion (Aitkaf) have been made in the province's top 100 endowed mosques, including Jamia Masjid Data Darbar and historically significant mosques.

In Jamia Masjid Data Darbar, the city of seclusion has been divided into four sectors for over two thousand seclusion seekers.

The cabins named after Baba Ghousia, Baba Farid, Baba Bahoo, and Baba Ahmad Raza have been set up in the designated sectors.

More than 500 citizens are secluded in the historical and globally renowned Badshahi Mosque too.

Special arrangements are made for the security of those secluded at both locations in Lahore.

Unauthorized individuals and personalities will not be allowed entry into the seclusion cabins, and legal action will be taken against violators.

Around 2,000 individuals have been accommodated in the Data Darbar complex.
