A man attempted to commit suicide after his wife turned down his request for reconciliation in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident took place in Ghosia Chowk in Rawalpindi.
Police said the husband who was later identified as Mohammad Usama sprinkled kerosene oil and torched himself after which he received severe burn wounds.
Soon after receiving the report, a Rescue 1122 team rushed to the site and shifted the critically injured man to a hospital.
Earlier on February 10, 2026, a man in Jaranwala died after setting himself on fire when his former wife declined to reconcile with him.
Muhammad Alam, a resident of Chak No. 53/GB, had divorced Sadia Bibi three months ago.
He attempted to take her back, but she refused, prompting him to pour petrol on himself and ignite the fire.
Rescue officials rushed him to the Civil Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Police reached the scene, completed legal procedures, and handed the body over to the family.
