Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has increased the price of single-phase AMI smart meters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to report, the price of single-phase smart AMI meters has been increased by up to Rs6,000. The price of AMI single-phase smart meters has been increased from Rs11,665 to Rs17,700.
The company's Material Management Department issued a notification a few days ago setting the price of the meter at Rs 11,665.
The Director Customer Services issued a notification to fix the new price at Rs17,700.
Earlier, Lesco had fixed the price of single-phase static meters at Rs4,000.
After the ban on static meters, the price on the basis of smart meters increased by a total of Rs13,000.
Along with the new price, consumers will also be provided with a ten-meter cable.
Consumers will have to pay an additional price to get a connection on a cable more than ten meters long.
Security demand notices will have to be submitted by consumers as per the approved load.
