A Motorway Police inspector was martyred after being hit by a truck near Abbottabad on the Hazara Motorway on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, Inspector Yasir Arafat was providing assistance in a traffic accident when a speeding truck hit him. He died on the spot.
The accident occurred due to negligence of the truck driver.
Martyred Inspector Yasir Arafat left behind a wife and four children to mourn his death.
Inspector General Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry expressed deep sorrow and regret over the incident.
