By-elections for PP-52 constituency in Silakot will be held tomorrow (Sunday), 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
The seat got vacant following the death of MPA Choudhry Arshad Javaid Warriach. 15 candidates are contesting the election. The key candidates include PTI supported independent candidate Fakhir Nishat Ghumman, PML-N candidate Hina Arshad Warraich and PPP candidate Raheel Kamran Cheema.
The polling will begin at 8:00am and continue uninterrupted until 5:00pm. A total of 185 polling stations have been set up for the by-election. Of these 11 have been marked as highly sensitive while 38 as sensitive. Polling material including ballot boxes stamps and stationery has been handed over to presiding officers and transported to polling stations.
Over 2000 police officers officials and elite force personnel will be deployed across the constituency to ensure law and order throughout the process. Polling staff along with police officers are taking the material to the stations with tight security.
Four to five police officers are with them in each vehicle. These officers will stay at the stations until polling ends.
