Traffic on Motorway M-1 was suspended due to thick fog that engulfed the area, but hours later it was reopened for traffic on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A spokesman of Motorway police said that the traffic on Motorway M-1 from Peshawar to Rakshai was suspended due to low visibility in the area.
The spokesman further said that Motorway Police decided to close the motorway for safety and security of the people.
The spokesman advised the travellers to avoid unnecessary journey or prefer to travel at daytime.
The spokesman advised the drivers to use fog lights while travelling on Motorways and keep a reasonable distance from other vehicles.
The spokesman said that any travaller can obtain guidance on Mogtorway Police Helpline 130 prior to start of journey.
The Motorway police spokesman said that any citizen can obtain necessary information through social media also.
