A policeman was martyred in firing by unknown persons in the limits of Jamrud police station in Khyber District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to police, the incident took place in Jabba area of Jamrud.
Policeman Haji Ramdad was martyred on the spot as a result of the firing and the accused managed to escape after the firing.
Police and administration reached the spot and started investigation. The body was shifted to DHQ Hospital Jamrud
The reasons for the incident are not yet known.
Later, the funeral prayers of martyred policeman Iamdad Khan were offered with full official honors at Police Lines Khyber.
DPO Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal, AC Jamrud, Army Officer, SP Investigation and other police officers and officials attended the funeral prayers.
