Announcing that the PTI planned to hold countrywide protest demonstrations against rigging in the general elections held on February 8 after Eidul Fitr, former National Assembly (NA) speaker and PTI stalwart Asad Qaiser on Thursday said that the party would announce the schedule of these events on April 12, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi along with other PTI leaders after meeting former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, he said that the party’s first public gathering would be held at Pishin in Balochistan and that a meeting to review arrangements for the rally would be held at Balochistan National Party Chairman Akhtar Mengal’s house on April 12 in Quetta.

PTI leader and former information minister Shibli Faraz said that the masses had given a full mandate to the PTI in the elections, which unfortunately was stolen. However, he said, the party would continue to fight for its rights in the court.

“We must differentiate between the people possessing Form 45 and Form 47,” he said, adding that the influx of investment in the country was stopped and brain drain was taking place.

Referring to the postponement of Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the PTI leader asked whether the KP was being victimized for giving a heavy mandate to the party.

He said his party wanted supremacy of the constitution and rule of law in the country.

“And we will not let Pakistan become a banana republic,” he said, adding that the role of the chief justice was crucial in the current situation.

PTI leader and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub said that the former first lady, Bushra Bibi, was not Imran’s but she was his strength.

He informed that a medical check-up of Bushra would be conducted to check whether she had been poisoned.
