The government has increased rates of profit on different national saving schemes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The profit rate of welfare saving, pensioners and Shuhada certificates has been raised from 9.96 percent to 10.32 percent.

However, the profit rate on defence saving certificates has been reduced from 8.10 percent to 8.04 percent.

The profit rate on regular income certificates has been marginally raised from 7.6 percent to 7.8 percent.

There was no change in the profit rate of saving certificates. The new rates will be applicable from August 4.
