Southern Punjab city of Taunsa Sharif’s katcha areas have been devastated by massive flooding but ironically no relief has been arrived and no camps were set up by the district authorities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

People living in the villages of Mauza Basti Nasir, Shape land and Beet Chachara in Katcha area started shifting to safer places as floodwater destroyed standing crops of sugarcane, wheat and rice on thousands of acres of land.

The flood situation continued to be the same in Taunsa Sharif, Malakpur, Aqib Pur and Jinpur.

Locals demanded the Punjab government to declare their area as disaster-stricken and provide them compensation as well.
