KP proposes over 100 increase in MBBS, BDS fees

A healthy increase in MBBS and BDS admission and other fees has been recommended as the students brace for admissions in medical and dental colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The raise was given a green signal at a meeting presided by the KP finance minister. The new proposed policy will be applicable to admissions in the financial year 2021/2022.

According to the proposed new policy, the annual fees on open merit seats has been increased by over 100 percent from Rs23,370 to Rs50,000.

There has also been a recommendation for 100 percent raise in annual fees of categories of general self-finance, Afghan nationals and foreign students.

The fees, after raised to Rs800,000 from Rs413,209, will be charged annually.
