PBC suspends 11 associate bars’ presidents for violation of election rules

Punjab Bar Council (PBC) Saturday suspended the presidents of 11 bar associations across the province for not forming an election board.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PBC has handed over the acting powers to the senior vice presidents (SVPs) of the associate district bars.

The report said that the PBC Chairman Executive Committee has issued orders of the suspension of presidents and handed over acting power to the SVPs.

The report said that the presidents of the bar associations were suspended for not forming a district election board under the election rules.

The PBC Executive Committee has directed the newly appointed Acting Presidents to form Election Boards in District Bar Associations.

The presidents of Rojhan, Chobara, Sangla Hill, Shahkot, Kamonki, Shakargarh, Rabwah, Sargodha, Joharabad and Kot Momin District Bar Associations have been suspended.
