Sindh Chief Minister Syed Muad Ali Shah on Monday made key changes to his cabinet, assigning new portfolios and additional charge to some team members.

According to a notification issued here by the chief secretary, Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has been given additional charge of human resources, education and literacy departments. The information portfolio has been taken away from him. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has been given charge of the information ministry. Previously, he held the portfolios of local government housing, town planning, forests and religious affairs ministries.

The local government department was taken from Ghani and handed over to Shah. This was done in light of the criticism of Ghani's performance as local government minister, especially from the opposition, after a spell of torrential monsoon rain in Karachi.

Jam Ikramullah has been given charge of the Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment Department that was previously held by Sohail Anwar Siyal. He holds the industries and commerce and cooperation portfolios as well. This is the second time the Sindh cabinet has been reshuffled. In August 2019, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had reshuffled the Sindh government.
