The National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution on Kashmir after holding debate for two days on the issue.

Chairman Kashmir Committee Syed Fakhar Imam presented the 19-point resolution.

It is demanded in the resolution that:

Human Rights violations should be internationally investigated.

Constant curfew from last six months should be lifted.

A UN military observers group should be deployed in IOK.

OIC special session should be convened on Kashmir issue.

This house condemns the Indian brutality in Occupied Kashmir.
This house urged the international powers to come forward and take notice of the Kashmiris sacrifices during the last seven decades.

This house condemns the recent Indian step to end Kashmir’s special status and make it a part of Indian territory despite the UN resolutions for holding a plebiscite there.

The house condemns the arrest of Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Asiya Andrabi and Dr Qasim Fakhtoo

Resolution says Pakistan will continue to extend its diplomatic support for the Kashmiris.

Initiating the discussion over the prevailing situation in the Occupied Kashmir in the National Assembly, Fakhar Imam said that resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute is the dire need of the hour as two nuclear states are standing eyeball to eyeball over the issue.

He said Kashmiri people are passing through the worst phase of their lives as they are imprisoned in their own homes. He said Indian occupation forces have destroyed the local economy of Kashmiris and now they are targeting the innocent people for ethnic cleansing.

He said with the continuous efforts of the government Kashmir issue has once again been internationalised, but still the issue demands more support from the international community.

Fakhar Imam said Quaid-e-Azam’s vision about creation of Pakistan based on the Two-Nation Theory has been vindicated after the illegal and unilateral action of India on 5th August.

PML-N leader Khawaja Asif speaking on the occasion said India has turned Occupied Kashmir into the biggest prison of the world. He urged the government to reinforce its efforts for highlighting the issue at every forum.
