Javed Ghani has been appointed as the new chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting its sources.

Javed Ghani will replace Nosheen Javed Amjad who has been removed from the post. Nosheen was appointed FBR chairperson in April this year.

According to the TV channel, the Federal Cabinet approved the appointment of Javed Ghani through a circulation summary on Friday.

Javed Ghani also served as FBR's Member Customs (Policy).

A notification regarding appointment of Javed Ghani as FBR chairman has also been issued.

Nosheen Javed Amjad has now been appointed as secretary national heritage and culture.
