‘United We Fight This Pandemic’ as NCOC completes 100 days

The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan increased by 3,387 during the past 24 hours (Friday) 225,283, shows the latest figures released by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) which completed its 100 days of operations on Saturday.

The country also recorded 68 more people dying of the virus, raising the death toll to 4,619. The number of patients being treated at different hospitals in the country is 5,199 out whom 2,460 are currently in a critical condition and admitted in the intensive care units.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reached the grim milestone of topping 1,000 deaths during the same period.

The latest figures came as the NCOC completed 100 days since its establishment which represented national resolve and resilience as well as service and humility.

As of now, the number of people recovering from the infection – 125,094 – is greater than the active cases – 95,570.

Meanwhile, the authorities are conducting more tests across the country and the overall number has now reached 1,372,825 since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

Sindh continues to be the most affected province of the country with the number of cases reported being currently at 90,721. It is followed by in 80,297 Punjab, 27,506 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 13,292 in Islamabad, 10,717 in Balochistan, 1,536 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,214 in Azad Kashmir. 

On the other hand, Punjab tops the list when it comes of deaths with 1,844 people dying of the coronavirus. The figures for other provinces/ regions are: Sindh 1,459, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,002, Islamabad 130, Balochistan 122, Azad Kashmir 34 and Gilgit-Baltistan 28.

To pay tribute to front line heroes, the national leadership will visit various health facilities across Pakistan to acknowledge the ongoing untiring efforts of the healthcare professionals.

On its 100 days of ongoing efforts, the NCOC paid tributes to the people of Pakistan who showed great resilience and health-seeking behaviour to fight the pandemic as well as emergency responders, law enforcement agencies and all those who shared this journey towards a healthy Pakistan.
