Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has taken serious notice of the issuance of attendance notice under section 160 of CRPC by the anti-terrorist wing of FIA. The section is a punishable section if notice remains noncompliance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In a statement, PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi condemned the behaviour of officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who even ignored the seniority of a journalist apart from the right of maintaining the confidentiality of his source of information which he attained on the former judge of accountability court late Arshad Malik who announced the judgment against Nawaz Sharif.

“We want an immediate withdrawal of notice by the anti-terrorist wing of FIA and demand respect for the journalists’ right of maintaining the secrecy of their source of information,” they said.

Nadeem Malik who is President Samaa TV, senior journalist and anchor has respect from his followers and viewers and known for credible stories and television content, the PFUJ leadership said.
