The federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Qamar Zaman Kaira said their government has decided not to allow the installation of power plants run on imported fuel in future.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, both the ministers held a joint press conference in Islamabad on Monday and said the electricity crisis is a reason for the former government’s negligence.

They said currently 23,900 megawatts of electricity is being produced in the country but the demand for electricity reached 30,000 MW last month which is the main cause of load shedding.

Marriyam Aurangzeb said the previous government of Imran Khan did not pay attention to power projects and also not took decisions timely which enhanced the crises.

She said her government has approved an auditor for the audit of SECP as well as the bill of National Accountability while five names have also been removed from the ECL.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said rising inflation has increased the problems of the people, adding that no one knew that oil prices would rise in the world market.
