Alarmed at Finance Minister Miftah Ismail’s failure to fix the country’s economy and the resultant unprecedented inflation and increase in poverty, some people have now taken to social media to demand the immediate return of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar to Pakistan from London, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

They are of the view that Miftah is not capable of resurrecting the economy, and in these circumstances Dar is a suitable option.

Asad Ahmed, a social media user, has asked the government to not only bring Dar back but also former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

Muhammad Umair has said that steps to bring former finance minister back to the country had now become inevitable.

Nawab Khan, who is also of the same opinion, has said that the current finance minister is simply not competent enough to prevent the economy from going downhill further.

Sardar Zulfiqar has also called for replacing Miftah with Dar so that the people could be provided much-needed relief.

Tariq Sohail, another user, has gone to the extent of saying that the PML-N risks losing its vote bank in case it does not brings the ex-finance minister back.

They have expressed the fear that if Miftah continues as the finance minister, petroleum products could even exceed Rs250 per liter.
