Today’s PSL is much better than previous ones: PM Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday met with West Indies star cricketer Darren Sammy and South Africa’s batting great Hashim Amla and expressed satisfaction on the ongoing 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League in Pakistan.

Khan remained a critic of the quality of players in previous PSL matches and often expressed his expert opinion on the matter in the past. But this time, PM is pleased on the arrangements and festivity of the PSL cricket matches in the country.

Meeting with the cricketers Imran Khan said PSL has revived the cricket festivity in the country. PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi was also present in the meeting.

Previous versions of PSL did not meet up with such fervour shown by the cricket lovers, adding that PSL matches in Dubai were not like today’s PSL, he said. “We will try to arrange more events for the public,” Khan expressed his government’s resolve to provide sport activities and entertainment for common people.

Sammy and Amla shared their proposals for future cricket related events in Pakistan. Khan also talked about the West Indies cricket with the Darren Sammy.

PM said that all matches, being played in Pakistan are full of crowd, is a welcoming scenario for the country.

Khan acknowledged the contribution of Peshawar Zalmi’s efforts for cricket revival in the country.

Khan also appreciated Daren Sammy’s contribution for the international cricket revival in Pakistan and congratulated him for getting honorary citizenship of Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that Sammy aka Saamistan for his love for Pakistan and cricket will get honorary Pakistan citizenship on March 23.
