Pakistan’s coronavirus cases reach 20,186 with 462 deaths

With the addition of 1,083 new cases, the number of coronavirus cases jumped to 20,186 on Monday while 5,590 patients had fully recovered from the infection during the past 24 hours.

According to the figures released by National Command and Operation Centre as well as the official website, the number of active cases currently stands at 14,134 and 111 of these patients are in a critical condition.

Punjab tops the list with 7,524 cases, which is followed by Sindh 7,465, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3,129, Balochistan 1,218, Islamabad 415, Gilgit-Baltistan 364 and Azad Kashmir 71.

On the other hand, 22 more people died of the virus, meaning that the death toll has now climbed to 462.

The region-wise detail of these deaths are: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 180, Sindh 130, Punjab 124, Balochistan 21, Islamabad four and Gilgit-Baltistan three.

Moreover, another 9,522 people were tested for the virus during the past 24 hours, after which the number of tests conducted since the pandemic outbreak has reached 212,511.

As far the recoveries are concerned, the number for Punjab is 2,667. It is followed by Sindh 1,555, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 811, Gilgit-Baltistan 260, Balochistan 197, Islamabad 56 and Azad Kashmir 44.
