The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has demanded the government to immediately fix Rs7,000 per 40kg as the support price of cotton, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

It said that delay in setting the support price of cotton would cause damage to the country.

It added that the cotton production would increase by 5 million bales if the support price was immediately fixed.

“It will also benefit the farmers and can increase per acre cotton yield,” it stated.
