PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said no decision would be made without consulting the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, as he criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan for his approach, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a public meeting in Astore as part of the ongoing election campaign in the region, Bilawal blasted Imran Khan for establishing a national park in the area, saying how such a step could be taken without dialogue with the locals who owned the land there.

Bilawal said only his party had worked for giving rights to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and promised to make the locals owner of the land.

He said Imran yesterday announced lower electricity tariff for big industrialists but had nothing to offer for the people.

Only the PPP can fight poverty and joblessness, said Bilawal and added that a 150 percent increase in the salaries of government employees and 100 percent surge in pensions was ensured during the last tenure of the party.

It was Asif Ali Zardari who gave the name of Gilgit-Baltistan to the region in 2009, he said, adding that the people got 25,000 jobs between 2008 and 2013.

Bilawal said instead of raising the pay, the Imran-led government was snatching their livelihood from the people, adding that they could not leave the masses at the mercy of others.

“You will get us elected, we will introduce new projects for you,” the PPP leader told the gathering.
