Dengue virus claims three more lives in Lahore

Deadly dengue virus claimed three more lives in Lahore on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As much as 91 new cases of dengue virus reported in Lahore during last 24 hours. Whereas, 46 new cases of dengue virus came to surface in Islamabad. Moreover, total number of patients affected by dengue virus has been mounted to 4,942.

Meanwhile, another 46 people have been infected by dengue in Islamabad bringing the total tally in the federal capital to 4,942. The death toll in Islamabad so far stands at 11.

Dengue fever is endemic to Pakistan, which experiences year-round transmission with seasonal peaks. However, triggered by the worst flooding in the country’s history that began in mid-June, the number of reported dengue cases is significantly higher in 2022 (between January and September) as compared to the same period during the four previous years.
