Differences between Imran Khan, Pervaiz Elahi on FIR issue surface

PTI chairman Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Friday locked horns over the registration of the First Information Report (FIR) against the assassination attack, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.    

According to the sources, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi wanted to file a case according to the procedure laid down by the law while former prime minister Imran Khan intended to have FIR according to his wish, sources said. 

Punjab Chief Minister has already ordered the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan during the long march in Wazirabad. 

He instructed the police to form a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the attack on Imran Khan’s convoy in Wazirabad. He also issued directives to hold an inquiry into the incident of the video leak of the suspected attacker. He directed IG Punjab to begin a probe to ascertain the motives of the gun attack.
