Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan got a big relief from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday as the latter threw out the case of violation of election code of conduct registered against her during by-election in NA-75, Daska, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing, Member Punjab Altaf Qureshi asked whether the PTI leader from district Sialkot had visited the constituency while the votes were being cast, her counsel replied that she had addressed a presser outside the constituency.

He requested the ECP to give him more time to prepare the case since senior lawyers were not present.

Asking Firdous’s counsel to prepare the case before coming to the commission’s office, Member Punjab Altaf Qureshi told him to go and tell his client that she had won the case.
