Ahead of the election for the chief minister in Punjab Assembly, the provincial government is contemplating to suspend membership of some of the opposition members, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Sources revealed that in a bid to change the number game in Punjab Assembly ahead of voting for the election of new leader of the house tomorrow (April 6), the provincial government is planning to suspend the membership of 15-20 MPAs of the opposition.

Sources said the membership of opposition MPAs will be suspended on the report of inquiry committee.

On the direction of Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi, an inquiry committee was formed on Monday which would present its report pointing out people involved in the ruckus and disruption in the proceedings of the provincial assembly on April 3.
