The Sindh Health Department has sought permission from Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for appointing 958 nurses, who have passed the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) examination, in the province’s hospitals to combat the situation regarding coronavirus pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The Sindh Health Department has sent a summary to the Sindh Chief Minister for the deployment of 958 nurses, the TV channel reported. The Health Minister has linked the deployment of nurses with the approval from the Sindh cabinet.

The Health Department said that these nurses would be deployed in those areas where coronavirus cases are increasing.

It is pertinent to note that the Sindh Health Department cancelled the notification of the appointment of nurses two days ago on which the Health Minister raised objection over the Health Secretary’s action. And after that, the Sindh Health Secretary took back the decision and sent the summary to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The Covid-19 cases in Sindh have surged to 180,904 and the Hyderabad city with 12.13 percent positivity ratio stood among top cities, as per the statistics shared by the National Command and Control Center (NCOC).
