The Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that the political leadership on the Sialkot lynching tragedy is united, reported 24NewsHD TV on Sunday.

Federal Ministers Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Fehmida Mirza and Prime Minister Aleem Dar’s special assistant held a press conference at the Islamabad sports complex.

Fawad has said, “Extremism is not a problem of any party, all political leaders are aware of the sensitivity of extremism.”

Fawad Chaudhry has said the entire nation bowed its head in shame over the Sialkot incident. Political party leaders, including the entire nation, mourn the tragedy of Sialkot after the tragedy of Army Public School (APS), added Information Minister.

On this occasion, Fawad said that on the Sialkot tragedy, the Prime Minister had contacted Sri Lankan leaders by telephone and claimed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination, Fehmida Mirza, said that the Prime Minister will introduce a new sports policy.

Federal Minister Fehmida Mirza said previous governments have a role to play in the decline of sports. We’ll settle it with promotion, Fehmida added.

Now we will see that together with the boys, the girls will also be at the forefront in the field of sports.

In the past, federations destroyed sports, Fehmida said.

Fehmida has said, under the new policy, legislation will be enacted in the field of sports.

During the press conference, Prime Minister Usman Dar’s Special Assistant has said the government is about to start the biggest sports gala in Pakistan’s history.

Unless young people are involved in healthy activities, there will be fear of more incidents such as the Sialkot tragedy, said Usman Dar.

Usman Dar has said that about 68 per cent of the country’s total population, comprised of young people. Out of the younger population, 93 per cent are deprived of sports activities, added Dar.

Dar said the government will gather all these young people in one stream and organize several events.
