Former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao Monday revealed that the National and other provincial assemblies will remain intact even if the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is dissolved, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sherpao, during an informal conversation with senior journalists, stated that the conduction of elections in the Federation and the provinces at the same time is nowhere written or discussed in the constitution. History has instances of the National Assembly getting dissolved when the provincial assemblies sustained. He quoted an example of the former president of Pakistan Ghulam Ishaq Khan when he dissolved Nawaz Sharif’s federal government but the provincial assemblies remained intact. He said that even if Punjab and KPK assemblies are dissolved, the federation will complete its term in the other provinces.
The Qaumi Watan Party founder said that the biggest problem of Pakistan is the economy. There is a dire need to pay attention to the economy for which there is a need to create a suitable political atmosphere. He continued by saying that politics goes on, elections will be held next year and whoever gets the majority of votes will establish the government.
Inflation is increasing daily and the problems are getting serious as petroleum and electricity prices have gone through the roof. The public is very worried and stressed and the situations will not at all get better until the public is given relief.
