Civilian injured in Indian troops firing across LoC

A civilian was injured when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, said a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

According to the ISPR, the Indian army targeted civilian population with mortars and heavy weapons in Battal Sector along the Line of Control Saturday night. Resultantly, a 22-year-old civilian got injured in the Indian firing, the ISPR statement added.

Pakistan Army troops responded effectively to the Indian firing, silencing their guns.

On July 1, a young boy was martyred when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Lipa Sector along the LoC in Azad Kashmir. This violation of the ceasefire agreement claimed life of the boy, a resident of Talwari village.

In a tweet, the Army spokesperson said, “Indian troops unprovoked CFV targeting civil population using artillery, mortars & heavy weapons in Lipa Sector along #LOC late last night.”

The ISPR tweet said, “A young boy resident of Talwari village martyred due to Indian indiscriminate firing. Pakistan Army responded effectively to Indian firing.”

On June 25 last, a woman was wounded critically when the Indian army resorted to unprovoked firing on the civilian population in Karela Sector along the LoC.
