Two children drown in Sindh canal

Two children drowned in the Mirwah Canal of the Khairpur town in Sindh, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

According to police, the deceased were identified as 11-year-old Hamza and nine-year-old Abdul Islam.

The two brothers went for swimming to beat the heat when the tragedy took place, the lawmen said.

Locals retrieved the bodied at a self-help basis.

A couple of months ago, Karachi-based three friends drowned in a canal of Tando Allah Yar where they visited to celebrate holidays.

Reportedly, seven friends on Saturday night left Karachi for Tando Allah Yar to enjoy their holidays during the lockdown in May.  

All of them safely reached their destination at Tando Allah Yar and also informed their families about their safe journey in the early morning.

Later, they went to the canal where three of them drowned. Rescuers reached the spot and retrieved the bodies.
