Federal Investigation Agency has sent a notice to former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar to appear at FIA office after he failed to appear before the agency on Friday despite being noticed earlier, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Earlier Shoaib Akhtar was summoned by FIA on the petition filed by PCB legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi. Tafazzul Rizvi stated that the former fast bowler had used inappropriate comments against him and damaged his reputation in a YouTube show, therefore, he has initiated defamation and criminal proceedings against Akhtar and also lodged a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency under its cyber-crime laws.
Acting on the petition, the FIA sent a notice to Shoaib Akhtar to appear on June 5th (today) but after waiting from 10 am to 1 pm, the FIA decided to send another summon to Shoaib Akhtar.
It is pertinent to mention that Rizvi-Akhtar spat was initiated when Shoaib Akhtar termed PCB legal team ‘incompetent’ and after being served with a defamation notice by Rizvi, Shoaib Akhtar had stated on social media that he would give a reply after consulting his legal team.
