The Sui Southern Gas Pipelines (SSGPL) has halted gas supply to the general industry in Karachi for a day to ensure the gas supplies to the residential consumers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The gas supply will be resumed on Monday (tomorrow) 8am.

The SSGPL also stopped the gas supply to the captive power plants, non-export oriented industries using gas as a fuel to produce their own electricity, in an effort to ensure residential consumers get enough supplies.

Former president of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Danish Khan has urged the government to resume the gas supply.
