World famous African-American singer and songwriter Akon has performed Umrah and the pictures of him posing near the Holy Ka’aba have gone viral on social media.

He told media before his concert in Damman that he would travel to the Holy City of Makkah and perform Umrah.

In a recent interview, Akon said: “The reason behind my success is faith in Almighty Allah and by following Islam.”

Akon was seen at Makkah with either his family members or his close friends.

The 46-year-old, who is a Muslim by birth, but, most of the people do not know that he was born to a Muslim family in St Louis on April 16, 1973.

On one occasion he opened up about his faith, saying Islam is the key to his success.

Akon was on tour in Saudi Arabia, he posted the concert picture on his Instagram, which reads, “Saudi Arabia was crazy!! Thanks again Saudi for the love once again.”
