Australia played only an over and made five runs without losing any wickets as bad light prevailed. Play was officially called off for the day.

Senior Pakistani batter Azhar Ali completed his 185 runs against Australia on Saturday on the second day of the opening Test in Rawalpindi and skipper Babar Azam made 36 runs taking the team’s total to 476 for four. Now Rizwan and Ifthikhar are at the crease in a bid to make mounting total of 500 runs.

The 37-year-old lofted spinner Nathan Lyon for his eighth boundary towards mid-wicket to complete his 19th hundred in his 92nd Test.

He has been Pakistan's mainstay in the Test batting line-up since making his debut in 2010, and boasts a triple hundred against the West Indies — the first since day-night Tests were introduced.

Imamul Haq was the slowest of the Pakistan pair on Saturday morning, adding just six runs in the first hour and not hitting a boundary until the 90th minute. Haq was lucky to survive a caught-behind appeal on 143 off Lyon the Australians didn't challenge when replays showed it hit the bat.

Opener Imam-ul-Haq was out after scoring 157 while captain Babar Azam managed to hit 36 before he was run out.

Australia had a chance to break the partnership and end Imam's innings at 143 with a toe edge behind off Lyon given not out on field, but they opted not to use a review.
